Woke Up This Morning!

I Await Spring!

Psalm 118:24 – This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. (NIV)

Woke up this morning — the sun is shining … the sky is blue with puffy white clouds … nice temperature, despite it being December! Rejoice!

Woke up this morning — the sun is shining … the sky is blue … the grass is dormant … the flowers are asleep. I won’t have to mow this week, nor water the flowers. Rejoice!

Woke up this morning — it’s not raining, nor is it snowing. Rejoice! Praise the Lord!

Woke up this morning — it’s sunny and cold but I’ve got a warm home, warm clothes, food to eat, books to read, family and friends. Whether I see them or not, I am blessed to have them in my life.  Rejoice!

Woke up this morning — but I look forward to the promise of spring. Rejoice!

Every day is a gift from God. Some days, it’s easier to rejoice than others, but God, who creates every day, also created us. He is our Father; we are His children and God has promised He is always with us. He loves us. He knows our needs and He wants us to seek Him out. On those days when it’s hard to rejoice and God seems far away, who do you think has moved?

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 – Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. (NIV)

Prayer: Dear God, help us to rejoice in each day. Let us be thankful for all that we have. Let us draw ever closer to You. Amen

About pattersmatters

I enjoy writing short stories and messages of encouragement as well as web-published devotionals. Favourite past-times are gardening, reading, walking and listening to good music. Married and the proud Mother of two sons, as well as step-Mom to a son & daughter - between them all, I'm Nana to ten (two granddaughters and eight grandsons) - each one is very precious to me. My devotionals can be read at: http://pepeprays.wordpress.com - www.devotionalchristian.com - plus PCC Daily Devotionals where I am published each month. I have submitted short stories to Cup of Comfort and to Chicken Soup for the Soul - as yet, I have not had one published, but that can change in an instant! I have committed to the National Writing Conest for November - 50,000 words! Neat challenge for anyone who enjoys writing rather than talking!!! :) Hope you enjoy my blogs and I DO appreciate your comments, so feel free to give me your opinions or your prayer requests.
